Tessa Montgomery, the mother of a three-year-old named Liam, is climbing Mt. Shasta in June with the Breast Cancer Fund's annual Climb Against the Odds mountaineering expedition and was featured in a Mt. Shasta Herald article. She's climbing to honor her childhood friend who died in May from cancer.
“I want to climb for those who can’t. People like Chelsey, who had their future taken from them at such a young age, and for all the rest who are fighting this terrible disease.
“I feel so honored and excited to be able to participate in this challenge...The term ‘challenge’ is interesting in that I’m going to push myself to my limits to summit Mt. Shasta, but what I love about this is that I’m doing it in honor of so many people being pushed to their limits on a daily basis.”
